Refinish and Paint Vehicle Components and Autobodies

The Refinishing Technician program prepares individuals to apply technical skills to repair, reconstruct/finish auto-bodies, fenders, and external features through refinishing techniques. The program duplicates a repair shop environment where work is performed on customer vehicles. This course uses the I-CAR Advance Tech Curriculum.

Industry Skills

  • Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner
  • Hold or position spray guns to direct the spray onto articles
  • Apply primers and decorative or finish coatings
  • Monitor painting operations to identify and correct autobody flaws
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble industry equipment

  • Students spend 50% of their time learning concepts in a classroom, and 50% of their time in the shop with hands-on practical work
  • Students gain experience in a simulated shop environment with industry-grade equipment
  • Enrollment options are available for both high school students and post-secondary students
