Construction Technology Program in Aurora, CO

Teaching Background: John has taught Vocational Construction at Conifer High School, and has been teaching the Construction Technology program at Pickens Technical College since 2018.

Industry Background: John served as Project Engineer and Assistant Superintendent for THS Constructors and Trehel Corporation in Clemson, SC. During this time he was responsible for jobsite supervision, scheduling, and coordination of subcontractors.

Instructor Greg Shamburg
Years Teaching: 26 years
Teaching Background:
Greg Shamburg has 26 years of teaching experience at Pickens Technical College in Aurora CO, including 18 years Cabinetmaking, 12 years Construction Technology, 20 years Construction Supervisor and 1 year as TOSA Teacher Leader (Math). His industry background includes remodeling, room additions, new construction, framing and exterior finish. He also holds City of Aurora Contractors License and Class B Supervisors License. While at Pickens he has served as department chair, on the instructional leadership team, on the Colorado State Faculty Curriculum Committee and the Colorado Content Collaborative in Assessment Development. He has been involved with Math-in-CTE since 2008, having developed and implemented lessons for his own classrooms and leading other instructors in use of the model. Greg has also assisted with Math-in-CTE implementations in Rhode Island, Washington DC and Vermont.
