Nail Technician Program in Aurora, CO

The Nail Technician program provides specialized training in plain manicures, oil manicures and pedicures. Basic and advanced techniques are taught in acrylic nails, silk wraps, gels, nail art, and paraffin treatments. Proper usage of implements with the sanitation procedures, recognition of nail disorders and the appropriate treatments are incorporated into the curriculum.

Students completing the program will be prepared to take the Colorado State Licensing Exam.

Gwyn spent 11 years with Littleton Public Schools before coming to Pickens in 2019. Previous to that, Gwyn taught in Englewood Public Schools and Jeffco Public Schools.

Years in Industry: Since 1994.

Industry Background:
Gwyn has opened/closed salons, hired/fired employees and worked with hair, skin and nails.

Instructor Shirleen Woods

Years Teaching: Since 1990.

Teaching Background:
Ms. Woods has taught at Emily Griffith, at private schools and at Pickens. Students of Ms. Woods have won competitions, been successful salon owners and have published in trade magazines.

Years in Industry: Since 1976.

Industry Background:
As a Cosmetologist, Ms. Woods has enjoyed working in full service hair, nails and skin care, as well as in specialty hair replacement centers.
