Tari has had the privilege of practicing in many different pharmacy specialties from community
(retail) to specialty compounding. Her favorite areas of practice are oncology and working with
the underinsured and underserved communities throughout the Denver Metro area. As an
experienced CPhT of 30+ years, Tari has been teaching and training technicians in the
industry for most of her career. In 2021, she was provided the opportunity to share her years
of experience with the next generations of pharmacy technicians at Pickens Technical

Dennis has worked and kept up with the cosmetology field for 20+ years. He has worked in
multiple salons, managed salons, and he has also owned a few. His passion for the field led
him into teaching cosmetology in the public education CTE system. Dennis has taught Italian

at the high school and postsecondary levels, and Fundamentals of Teaching professional

in 2022. Early Childhood Education has always been a passion of hers. She believes that the

Shana began working in the construction industry in 1997 with her husband when they started
a business together for 15 years. She assisted her business throughout the construction
process of the houses, assisting with the build, along with handling of the finances. She is
very passionate about the construction process, the Advanced Construction Methods
program, and Pickens Technical College. She currently works as the Advanced Construction
Methods program assistant. Shana started working in education after her high school
graduation as a Special Education Paraeducator. She has followed in her fathers footsteps to
Pickens Technical College where she now supports the College, and the construction
program in the main office. Her love and passion for the students, teachers and education has
given her a long career of 20 years.

Rachel started off working in public horticulture at the Dallas Arboretum in Texas before
moving to Colorado where she worked for the City of Denver as a Park Horticulturist and then
the Denver Aquarium as their Head Horticulturist. During the pandemic, she finished up her
Master’s degree at CSU and worked as an Account Manager for Environmental Designs.
Before starting at Pickens in 2021, Rachel had some experience as a substitute teacher in
Denver Public Schools and taught after-school programs in agriculture around Arapahoe
County. She started teaching the Environmental Horticulture program in 2021 and has loved
being here since!

Ray has experience in Diesel Heavy Mechanic working on engines, transmissions, Air brake
Systems (Drum and Disc), Hydraulics, Electrical, cooling systems, High and Low-pressure
fuel systems. He spent time working on equipment from buses, farm harvest equipment,
over-the-road trucks, off-highway trucks, boats, heavy equipment, small engine repair, CDOT
plow trucks, Military equipment, Airplane De-icers, Airport ground support equipment (Tugs,
Pushbacks, Belt loaders). In addition, Ray was a supervisor at Transit in Austin, Tx with 25
mechanics under his supervision. Prior to Pickens, Ray had 4 apprentices that did their Heavy
truck/Bus apprenticeships for about 4 years apiece. He trained them on everything from air
brakes to engines to cooling systems and all of the different components and systems on the
vehicles.

He started in the industry at a general import garage working on all types of German vehicles
and furthered his education in VW/AUDI, BMW, MINI, and Mercedes Benz. He then
transitioned into a more performance-based Subaru specialty shop where he serviced and
enhanced vehicle performance on all makes and models. After working on performance
vehicles he moved to Crown Lift Trucks as a field service technician which led to more of a
management role with 27 technicians working from Denver to New Mexico. He has been
teaching automotive since 2022 at Pickens Technical College where he enjoys sculpting the

Bonnie also worked internationally for Gigi and Clean’N Easy Wax Brands, where her job was

Aurora Central High School and at St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy in Wisconsin. He has
taught every grade from 6th-12th, except 7th graders. At Pickens, Sam supports 12+
programs with math content. He helps with anything math related, from calculating working
pressures for irrigation systems to statistical process control and anything in between. He

The majority of Ed’s career he spent working in Ford service where he achieved Senior
Master status. During that time he personally trained a number of apprentices, and it is during
that time he discovered his love of teaching. Most of Ed’s teaching years have all been here at
Pickens Tech where he started as an adjunct in 2009/10 working with both the Auto and
Diesel programs. At the start of the 2010/11 school year, he was moved into a full-time
contracted position and has remained in that role since. He currently serves as Transportation
Chair and has served on numerous teams and committees during his tenure. He is proactively
pursuing the addition of EV training to Pickens and serves as co-chair on the Colorado ZEV

veterinary clinic. She has done everything from adoption counseling at a shelter, to assisting

Mr. Roloff came to Pickens after ten years of working in the industry where he held
both maintenance technician and supervisory positions for several property
management companies in multi-family complexes. Mike has been teaching at
Pickens Technical College since 2015 and says “When you love what you are doing it
is no longer a job, it becomes a passion.” “Seeing my students have those “Ah-ha”
moments is the most rewarding part of being a teacher.”

Pam began in the education industry in 1989. In 1994, she became the Maryland Admissions
Representative for Johnson & Wales University, my alma mater. It was in this position that
Pam fell in love with career and technical education, career advising, counseling, and learned
the power of what a CTSO can do to transform a student’s life. She made it her mission to
pursue her Master’s degree.
In 2005, Pam relocated to Colorado and in 2011 graduated with her Master’s and began
working in a middle school counseling office. In 2018, Pam came to Pickens and began her
dream job, which she named as her goal on her first day of classes in graduate school!

Levi started work at the Discount Tire while going to school at Pickens Technical College. He
graduated and pursued a career at Toyota for 4 years starting as a lube technician and ending
as a Toyota Certified line technician. He left Toyota and worked at Chevrolet for 1 year. While
teaching the night class he worked at Chevrolet for an additional year before being hired
full-time at Pickens Technical College. Levi has been teaching at Pickens Technical College
since 2017. He started teaching night and then a day position opened up and has been here
ever since. Levi has credentials in transportation for Post-Secondary and Secondary. Member

own catering company. After college, she owned a wedding planning company. She remains

competing with students through DECA, an association of marketing students. She currently

Bradley started working here at Pickens Tech in 2018. Bradley started as a Para Tech in the
SRC (Student Resource Center). He is a fast learner with technical expertise. Shortly after, he
became our EA Tech employee where he learned to support all of Pickens. From there,
Bradley became our Technician, Site Based, and lead a team of employees and interns. Here
he ensures that the IT Department works efficiently and with minimal errors.

Erika comes to Pickens with a strong background in corporate training and Special Needs aquatic
safety. She is passionate about service to our community and has always strived to help those who are

Michael started his career with an apprenticeship and moved his way up over the years to
being a salon owner. He spent almost 20 years working behind the chair until he needed
more. Michael then went back to school in 2010 to gain his cosmetology instructor/operator's

heading for over a decade. He was the site-based Technician at Pickens for 9 years when the
opportunity to teach the Cyber Technician program opened up in 2023. Joseph brings his
years of experience to the classroom to provide unsurpassed instructional education. Joseph
was a tutor under the No Child Left Behind Act and worked closely with the previous Cyber
Technician instructor that placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in Technology-related fields at Skills USA.
